Summary: Under general supervision, incumbent(s) ensures safety of students on the buses and other school property by enforcing school rules and policies pertaining to student behavior. In addition, incumbent(s) assists with bus cleaning and tracks records and attends conferences for bus incidents.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains order on the bus according to state law and District policy by monitoring student behavior.
- Assist in the cleaning the bus including floors, seats, windows, exterior, and disposing of trash.
- Keeps records of all warnings and prepares behavior incident documentation when appropriate. Attends conferences with principals and parents when behavior becomes an on-going problem.
- Acts as a liaison between staff, student and parents by promoting positive relations between the school, students and parents.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
- Valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification within 30 days of hire;
- Valid First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) prior to being hired;
- Proficiency in English and another target language.
