We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong expertise in front office trading and FX processes to join a team working on a comprehensive assessment and remediation project for a financial services firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and mapping front office workflows and trading platforms, identifying key issues, and supporting the design of an optimized future state operating model. The role will require deep knowledge of FX trading products and processes, ensuring smooth collaboration with both technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead Business Analysis for Front Office Operations: Analyze and document front office trading processes, with a focus on FX products and workflows, such as spot, options, futures, swaps, swaptions, alternatives, and exotics.
· Collaborate with Trading and Technology Teams: Work closely with traders, front office teams, and technology stakeholders to map existing processes and identify areas for improvement, including e-trading, RFQ, ESP, hedging, and pre-trade compliance.
· Risk and Compliance: Assess pre-trade compliance, risk management, and model calculations, ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal risk frameworks.
· Process Mapping & Workflow Documentation: Develop detailed process maps, system dependencies, and data flows for the current state, identifying gaps and potential optimizations.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders through interviews and workshops to gather insights and validate findings, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of front office operations.
· Support System Integration & Remediation Planning: Assist in the design and implementation of system integrations and the remediation of front office systems to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
· Prepare for Future State Design: Collaborate with project teams and the client to create recommendations for an optimized future state operating model, leveraging best practices in front office trading.
· Technical and Functional Support: Provide expertise on FX trading system functionality, including messaging structures, model calculations, and throughput requirements to inform technical teams during the remediation process.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Technology, or a related field (or related experience).
· Minimum of 7 years of experience as a business analyst in front office trading within the financial services industry, with a strong focus on FX products and processes.
· In-depth understanding of FX trading products (spot, options, futures, swaps, swaptions, alternatives, and exotics) and associated processes such as e-trading, RFQ, ESP, hedging, pre-trade compliance, and risk management.
· Proven experience in business process analysis, with the ability to map complex workflows and identify operational inefficiencies.
· Strong understanding of front office trading systems and platforms, particularly buy-side and sell-side platforms, along with knowledge of regulatory and risk requirements.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Proficiency in business analysis tools, data mapping, process documentation, and project management.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a results-driven approach to driving process improvements.
· Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with internal teams and external clients.
