Business Analyst - Geo, Engineering, and Reserves - Inceed

Compensation: $100K - $120K (+Bonus potential)

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Business Analyst to join their team! This exciting role offers the opportunity to support multiple business units by providing essential application support and project management. Ideal for a candidate with a background in geology and IT, this role is perfect for someone looking to engage with various internal teams and take ownership of project work, application support, and vendor collaboration. As the company grows and expands, this position is crucial in defining project requirements, analyzing existing systems, and ensuring the seamless integration of software solutions. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent technical skills and an ability to confidently collaborate across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive application support to multiple business units, including collaboration with internal and vendor teams.
• Define project requirements and identify whether to utilize internal resources or outsourcing for IT needs.
• Lead and manage project activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT capabilities.
• Engage with vendors for issue resolution, enhancements, and upgrade testing.
• Work alongside the IT infrastructure team to support application installations and updates.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with a background in IT.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in software/application support.
• Proficiency in SQL for data handling and analysis.
• Experience with PowerBI or Spotfire for data visualization and reporting.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Familiarity with Python or R for advanced data analysis.
• Knowledge of specific industry software such as Kingdom, Actenum DSO, Petrel, and Aries.
• Background in the oil and gas industry, with exposure to Geoscience, Reservoir Engineering, or Reserves.
