Role Description:
Client Business Analyst III
- This Business Analyst position reports to the Product Development BA team.
- The Business Analyst III is responsible for collaborating with Solution Management, Operations, Medical Management/Clinical Authoring and other various Business Stakeholders to define, analyze and document complex business problems.
- This collaboration enables prioritization and implementation of business initiatives. The Business Analyst will act as the subject matter expert for software applications and business knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Develops strong working relationships with Business and IT stakeholders
- Works with business stakeholders to capture business needs and elicit requirements, while prioritizing competing business demands
- Partners with Enterprise Architecture and User Experience teams to deliver system design; Participates in design reviews
- Manages and analyzes data supplied by third party vendors
- Identifies Software Products' interdependencies
- Creates capability designs and configuration specifications
- Guides QA team members in creating Test Plans, Test Cases and Test Data review
- Supports the project team during design, development, QA and UAT testing by clarifying requirements questions in the form of both verbal and written communication
- Updates Client Implementation materials after release of new enhancements and capabilities
- Owns and maintains the Product Backlog, ensuring prioritization, resolution and implementation of defects and enhancements
- Analyzes complex end user needs to determine optimal means of meeting those needs.
- Determines specific business application software requirements to address complex business needs.
- Develops project plans and identifies and coordinates resources, involving those outside the unit.
- Works with programming staff to ensure requirements will be incorporated into system design and testing.
- Acts as a resource to users of the software to address questions/issues.
- May provide direction and guidance to team members and serves as an expert for the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
- 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst
- Healthcare experience a plus
- Experience working in Product Development
- Basic understanding of Information Technology and business models; Broad IT domain experience in the areas of Product Management, Application Development, Enterprise Architecture, Quality Assurance, etc.
- Excellent facilitation skills
- Excellent time management skills, including the ability to multitask across several large initiatives or projects
- Strong problem solving/analytic skills - Concise, yet effective, communication style
- Ability to align teams to drive results
- A focus on personal accountability and deliverables, but also Corporate objectives/outcomes
- Rapid learning ability and leading-edge learning style Learning from all levels (not a top-down approach)
- Understanding of computer applications and programming.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of health care industry and Utilization Management preferred.
- Experience with CLIENT's Imasis, Provider Portal, Optinet and/or Shopper applications is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Jira, Snagit, Daptiv, DocuShare, and InRule
- Ability to travel locally between CLIENT's offices in the Chicagoland area.
