Job Summary:
We are seeking a Business Analyst / Quality Assurance (BA/QA) Specialist with an insurance background and experience in claims or claims project implementations. The ideal candidate should be able to absorb claims-related business objectives, identify business issues, and transition them into proposed solutions. Responsibilities include researching system functionalities and solutions, documenting requirements, liaising with business stakeholders, and performing manual testing of implemented functionalities and bug fixes. The perfect candidate should possess excellent problem-solving and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. This individual should be a detailed planner and an expert communicator, serving as the bridge between Business and IT.
This is a remote position, with occasional visits to the New York office as needed.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

What you will do:
- Collaborate with claims business partners to gather and document requirements and workflows for projects and system improvements.
- Work with IT, vendor partners and business to ensure the accuracy of requirements.
- Develop test plans for major initiatives, aligning them with business requirements and test scenarios.
- Work with IT and vendor partners to verify system modifications, ensuring the work meets expectations.
- Log and track defects found during QA validation.
- Foster expertise in business processes and application usage to identify potential solutions for business challenges.
- Offer the Support team assistance with any Production Issues that may occur, leveraging their expertise in current and anticipated functionalities to guide towards a solution.
- Communicate to business stakeholders about progress and status.
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline (preferred).
- 2-4 years of experience in business analysis and quality assurance software testing (required).
- Claims or Claims Implementation experience a plus.
- Atlassian & Microsoft suite experience.
- Experience in generating process documentation and test plans.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Capacity to manage several tasks at once.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with business stakeholders and IT teams.
- A collaborative mindset with the capability to thrive in a team-based setting.
- Ability to understand technical issues at a high level.
- Remote and in-office (Kingston, NY) as needed.
