Overview Description:
- This Business Analyst role involves supporting stakeholders at the client organization by gathering, analyzing, and documenting information to streamline and enhance business operations and processes. Key responsibilities include identifying, evaluating, and recommending solution alternatives to improve workflows, business processes, and data management. The Business Analyst will act as the main point-of-contact on process improvement initiatives, facilitate requirements elicitation, conduct workshops, and collaborate with client managers on project approvals and implementation.
- Core functions include documenting current and future state processes, developing conceptual and process flow diagrams, and analyzing the impacts of process changes to advise on appropriate mitigation strategies. Additionally, the role requires producing critical project deliverables, such as requirements documents, process diagrams, and change management plans. The Business Analyst will also be responsible for supporting budget-related activities and assisting project managers in tracking and meeting business, schedule, and budget objectives.
- In working with various internal and external stakeholders, the Business Analyst must maintain effective client relationships, resolve conflicting priorities, and ensure compliance with the client’s records and information security standards. The role involves a strong focus on strategic planning, collaboration with outside consultants, and supporting Transmission Planning Operations (TPO) to align with the client’s long-term goals.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Corresponding Experience:
- A degree in business administration, accounting, business management, engineering studies (or closely related field) is preferred.
- 5 years of experience is required with an applicable bachelor’s degree.
- 7 years of experience is required with an applicable associate degree.
- 9 years of experience is required without a degree or an applicable degree.
- Demonstrated analytical, modeling, and process management expertise sufficient to support the improvement of the Transmission Planning processes.
Required Technical Skills & Experience:
- Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts
- Experience with project management, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
- Understanding of how people go through a change and the change process, including familiarity with change management toolkits.
- Skilled in the definition and development of operational governance models to enable programmatic change.
- Strong analytical thinking, critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Skills & Experience (optional):
- Energy/utility industry experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Visio, and SharePoint.
- Proven skills in process analysis, re-engineering and optimization.
- Ability to build credibility and trust among key project stakeholders.
- Proficient in communication, facilitation and negotiation with stakeholder groups.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to present information in various forms such as textual, graphical, and statistical.
- Skill in data analysis and developing associated reports and presentation materials.
- Skill in modeling business process requirements, verification of deliverables.
- Experience influencing and integrating change in a large, diverse organization.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly working with business subject matter experts to document business.
- Ability to manage meetings (scope/task/time).
- Ability to take something complex and break it down into all its parts as well as determine the interrelationships.
- Self-managed in terms of time and task management; can operate with little guidance. Self-starter overall.
