St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of Business and Data Analyst.. The Business and Data Analyst provides leadership and oversight for university wide-reporting efforts to achieve the University Strategic Plan - Student Success Initiative - through direct outreach, outcomes assessment, and analysis of student success operations and strategy.
This position will be responsible for implementing the University's CRM (Navigate 360) and serving as the Content/Application Administrator for advising and coaching software. The position supports university retention, persistence, and graduation success software, reporting and data management efforts within the Student Success Center and the Academic Schools. This position facilitates and supports the university's strategic plan. This position reports to the Vice Provost for Academic Policies and Student Success and collaborates closely with the Director for Academic Counseling and Support Programs.

- Bachelor's degree required, Masters Degree Preferred
- Has a minimum of three years of experience working in a college setting.
- Experience with Tableau reporting and analysis software. and university CRM software focused on retention and advising. Experience with EAB Navigate 360 is preferred.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications i.e., Word, Excel, GSuite, Mongoose, Emma, Qualtrics, Smartsheet university software such as Banner, Degree Works, Argos, Tableau, Tableau Prep, predictive analytics platforms, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in enrollment/retention management services, accessing institutional data, analyzing trends, and developing reports.
- Understanding and knowledge of current evidence-based best practices related to student retention, success, and persistence.
- Strong technical skills that include experience working with student management and early alert systems/tools that enhance student retention and success.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and provide oversight for seamless integration and coordination of proactive support service tools aimed to support Student Success Center initiatives and university strategic priorities.
- Understand the key processes, objectives, and functions of the Student Success Center
- Gather and document requirements for improved operations and business processes
- Work with Student Success Center leadership to prioritize business process improvements
- Oversight of the Academic Early Alert programs through the CRM.
- Collaborate with the SSC Business and Data Analyst in ongoing maintenance and development and expansion of the University's CRM software for the Student Success Center.
- Implementing and providing support for the CRM, this includes assisting SSC departments with developing business processes; assisting in prioritizing functional requirements for system automation in collaboration with the SSC Business and Data Analyst and the Office of Information Technology staff.
- In collaboration with the SSC Business and Data Analyst and Institutional Effectiveness and Planning team work to validate, develop, forecast and prepare internal university reports in the areas of registration enrollment, graduation rates, demographics, retention, and other institutional quality measures utilizing Tableau and other university software systems.
- Use data to develop accurate assessments and guide daily actions for Student Success Center, the Academic Schools and the larger Student Success Initiative. This includes analyzing retention and other student data to develop protocols and strategies for reaching out to students for whom traditional retention programs have not been successful.
- Meet regularly with university partners to discuss and plan retention initiatives and collaborative efforts necessary to ensure student success.
- Collaborate across schools and college operations to further strengthen efforts, coordinate strategies, assess effectiveness, and enhance students' retention, persistence, engagement and post-graduation success.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of individual and overall retention strategies for the Student Success Initiative and Student Success Center Departmental Strategies.
- Prepare regular reports for the Student Success Center and Academic Schools.
- Access student information and compile records working with Undergraduate Admission, Registrar's Office, undergraduate School Dean's offices and the Student Success Center teams.
- Serve as a member of the SSC Systems User Group.
