About the Job
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for our client's Project Management Practice is a high-energy, results-driven "hunter" with a proven track record of identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities. This role demands a strategic sales leader who can aggressively expand our client's market presence, leveraging their extensive network and industry expertise to drive significant revenue growth.
Primary Objectives:
- Aggressively pursue and secure new accounts in target industries
- Expand our client's Project Management Practice through strategic business development initiatives
- Cultivate and leverage a robust professional network to identify and close high-value opportunities
Essential Functions:
- Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in the Project Management Practice, with a focus on high-value, strategic accounts
- Utilize a professional network to generate leads, secure meetings with key decision-makers, and drive new business acquisition
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to penetrate new accounts and industries
- Consistently meet or exceed new business targets and revenue goals
- Create and implement innovative account strategies to rapidly expand market share and move deals up the services/consulting value chain
- Demonstrate a "hunter" mentality by continuously prospecting, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities
- Lead sales cycles from initial contact through contract negotiation and closure
- Develop proposals, RFP responses, and presentations that effectively communicate our client's value proposition
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions that address client needs and drive new business growth
- Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities and provide accurate forecasts and reports on business development activities
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market opportunities to inform business development strategies
Requirements
• Project Management Consulting experience preferred.
•Minimum 10 years of Business Development experience in one or more of the following industries: Oil & Gas, Utilities, Manufacturing. Heavy Industrial, and/or Architecture & Construction.
• Minimum 5 years of Services business development experience with direct involvement in initiating, cultivating, and managing large customer accounts aligned to the industries listed above.
• Proven industry expertise with established key account and customer relationship capital.
• Proven success developing and solutioning Project Management outsourcing/consulting engagements including:
· Full Project Lifecycle Management
· Project Planning & Controls
· Project Quality & Safety
· Construction & Field Management
· Outage & Turnaround Support
· Architectural Modeling & Documentation
· Procurement & Supply Chain
• Experience driving revenue within EPC model (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and Project Management (Project Controls/Owner’s Representation/Scheduling).
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present to executive stakeholders and all levels of internal and external organizations.
• Experience and knowledge of engineering, utility, energy areas required.
• Ability to utilize sales/CRM systems with strong documentation and organizational skills. Prior experience utilizing Salesforce preferred.
• Proven ability to effectively align customer goals with company solution offerings.
• Ability to travel US to customer meetings as required, up to 50%.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
