Position: Business Development Manager
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid, 2 days onsite)
Pay: $142,000 to $162,000 annually
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a law firm or professional services to develop and implement BD initiatives for firm Employment Law and Corporate practices.
- 1+ years of leadership, supervisory or management experience.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or combination of relevant experience preferred.

Job Description:
- Responsibilities include developing a deep understanding of Firm practice areas (services, expertise, clients, competitors).
- Serve as a firm-wide 'connector' to facilitate internal knowledge sharing and cross-practice selling.
- Build strong business relationships with attorneys and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop, execute, and track BD projects including identifying opportunities and making recommendations to expand existing client work, and enhancing cross-selling opportunities.
- Provide support for new business pursuits including pitches, RFP responses and capabilities presentations.
- Develop programs designed to enhance service provided including developing custom proposals/RFPs, tracking opportunities/leads, calculating ROI on events/sponsorships, collecting experience data, and implementing a sales-focused CRM.
- Monitor market, industry, and competitive trends for practice groups.
- Conduct research related to clients, prospects, industry segments and competitors.
- Manage key practice group information (experience, client profiles, market intelligence, contact lists).
- Collaborate with members of the Marketing Department to develop new external marketing collateral and update website content.
- Work with the Head of Public Relations & Strategic Communications to develop and raise practice area profiles through submission of rankings, surveys, league tables, sponsorships, and practice group events.
- Support other administrative functions with direct and regular interface with other business services support teams.
Position Requirements:
- Must be able to establish credibility with legal personnel at all levels and demonstrate a mix of confidence, tact, patience, and persistence with eagerness to understand Firm mission and business priorities/practice activities.
- The commitment to client service, excellent communication/writing skills, strong multitasking/project management abilities, resourcefulness, and understanding of how to prioritize projects is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
- Ability to prioritize/follow up on projects and use creative methods to meet required deadlines, along with a positive track record to identify, develop, and implement best practices to expand cross-selling opportunities that yield high realization successes is needed.
- Must demonstrate confidence be able to work independently to enhance communications within and across practice groups, offices, and members of management while executing traction with business development efforts.
- Travel may be required.
