Sullivan Engineering, a RIMKUS company, is hiring in New York City!
We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Business Development / Marketing Manager based in the New York City office. This position is a direct liaison between our clients and professional staff to promote and support Sullivan Engineering’s Building Envelope services.
Responsibilities and expectations of this role include: introducing and explaining professional capabilities, assessing and promptly addressing client service needs and services sought; creating, developing and advancing value driven relationships; building trust; communicating comprehensively, concisely and effectively in person, in writing and over the phone to expand and build the business and client base.
The position requires: prior face to face business development experience; the ability to work independently, effectively and collaboratively in a Team environment under minimal supervision with the application of initiative and sound judgment in the performance of assigned tasks
In their assigned territory, the successful candidate will be managing our business development cycle from qualification of prospects, to meetings initiation and introduction of professional capabilities through receipt and initiation of project assignments and ongoing account management.

Responsibilities:- Development and execution of competitive sales and marketing strategies designed to secure significant market penetration and maximum client satisfaction
- Introduction of the company’s services to prospective clients (e.g. Facilities Managers, Property Managers, Owner’s Representatives, Account Executives, Building Owners) to establish new accounts and secure repeat business
- Identify, evaluate, establish and manage business opportunities and relationships
- Expansion of client relationships through regular contact and promotion of value added services to maintain and develop additional business
- Review and analyze information to develop new initiatives, partnerships and strategies
- Utilization of client relationship management system (CRM) database to manage and report on business development and account management activity
- Follow-up with potential clients and assist operations team members in managing external relationships
- Handling and effectively resolving client concerns and issues
- Identify and propose potential business opportunities by studying trends in the industry with respect to market developments, projects, competitive activity and customers
- Participating in key marketing strategies, industry events, trade shows, and conferences
- Develop inbound sales opportunities, qualify leads, establish scope and prepare comprehensive proposals based on client needs
- Securing, coordinating and managing consultant presentation opportunities of continuing education seminars for our clients
- Attending client related professional and social functions, conventions and events as needed to promote the company and our services; requires occasional after business hours work
- Track metrics and qualitative progress of business development practices and objectives
- Daily travel predominantly in and around the New York City/Northern New Jersey area; regional travel (20-25%) will also be involved
- 4-year bachelor’s degree; B.S. in Business Management, Marketing or related field preferred; will consider B.A. or considerable appropriate business experience; M.B.A. a plus
- Track record of responsibility and success; minimum 2 years professional level experience in business development, one-on-one and group meetings, client relationship management, sales and/or account management
- Experience working in the Architecture Engineering and Construction (A/E/C) industry is preferred
- Experience in the identification and selection process for outside resource relationships
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), follow up, presentation and interpersonal skills
