A unique opportunity has become available here at BRT, Inc., a national bulk liquid products transportation leader in B2B logistics since 1980. We have 120+ great Team Members, and we are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to identify, establish, and develop relationships with new customers, and nurture many long-term and established relationships in order to drive business growth. This position will report to the Director of Business Development. The ideal candidate must have a passion for helping others and be able to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with people at all levels of an organization, with a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality, helping to ensure customer delight and mutual commitment. This position is Hybrid, but must be within commuting distance to allow for approximately 2 to 3 days in the office.

The Business Development Manager is the driving force responsible for developing profitable transportation solutions for our customers, and must have a true passion for sales. They will manage current customer accounts and also are thrilled to identify, establish, and develop new accounts and customer solutions for local, regional and long- distance transportation customers.

Essential Job Description:
- The ability to provide BRT’s core value of superior customer service in all interactions.
- Establishing and executing competitive sales goals.
- Building trust and long-term relationships with prospective customers.
- Generating new sales leads and follow-up in a timely and efficient manner, including cold calls.
- Developing ways to improve the customer experience and build brand loyalty.
- Arranging business meetings and one-on-one conversations with prospective customers.
- Identifying services that would appeal to new customers.
- Managing company and customers’ expectations.
- Negotiating transportation agreements.
- Cultivating positive relationships with Director of Business Development / Senior Leadership to create & evaluate sales strategies and results.
- Researching market and industry trends.
- Developing and leveraging a referral program from existing customers and Team Members.
- Identifying and attending relevant networking events.
- Utilizing tools such as ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, etc.
- Familiarity with a CRM software methodology, lead tracking, and quantifiable follow-up.
- Other duties as directed by Director of Business Development and Senior Leadership.

Computer Experience:
- Proficiency with technology and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software, desired.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Windows, Excel, Word, Access, etc.), required.
- Strong aptitude for learning software programs used specifically by BRT, as appropriate, desired.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business, or related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, required.
- Working knowledge of transportation bulk liquid industry, desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, required.
