About the Job
Responsible for the development of new business contacts, managing and maintaining existing customer relations, contacts and sales within the Renewable Energy field connected to the strategic plans of Mastec Renewables.
Location: This position can be located at or near any of our office locations: Fargo, ND; Indianapolis, IN; Clinton, IN; Tempe, AZ; or Phoenix, AZ. If located within 30 minutes from an office location, we work an onsite schedule. Based on the experience and skill set of the individual identified, we are open to a remote-based role with ability to travel to our office locations to support events or department activities,

MasTec Renewables group is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure business segment. MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $4 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for industrial facilities; building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants; solar, wind, and thermal energy plants; buildings, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:- Identify, develop, and lead sales opportunities through industry research, calls to clients, site visits and attending trade shows and conventions
- Obtain a deep knowledge of and experience with owners, developers, and other decision makers in target markets
- Develop and build rapport with a network of contacts
- Work closely with executives, estimating, and operations on business leads
- Work with department Senior Business Development Director to establish company budget/sales goals
- Pre-qualify MasTec Renewables for project opportunities
- Observe applicable current events, business trends and activity of competitors to gain information to make good business decisions and improve our strategy
- Develop an understanding of the client’s goals, needs and concerns and clearly communicate this to estimating to assure we submit responsive bids and increase our chances of receiving contract awards
- Seek out and use industry sources and consumer information
- Track sales results so objectives are achieved within designated budgets
- Coordinate proposals, correspondence letters and respond to RFP’s as applicable
- Develop and maintain a database for potential client and project opportunities using the Salesforce CRM
- Travel to various client locations on a regular basis
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Construction Management or a Business-related field
- Five years of related experience
- Previous Renewable Energy experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

- Possess strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

- Maintain a positive attitude while working with MasTec team members and customers
- Read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
- Effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
