Business Development Manager - San Diego, CA
Responsibilities:
- Achieve deal quotas and KPIs (e.g. conversion rate, average deal size, size of pipeline)
- Create market development plans identifying opportunities within your assigned geographic market and action plans tied to quota attainment; ensure assigned markets achieve organic sales goals
- Build industry and market knowledge, staying current with developments and competitive activity via effective networking
- Generate new leads and leverage referrals using multiple strategies, e.g. target research, emails, cold calling, nurture campaigns, referral networking
- Work with your local operations team to schedule and lead sales presentations
- Coordinate with local leadership teams for additional subject matter expertise in presentations
- Follow up on a timely basis with existing sales leads and follow a strong sales playbook
- Conduct needs-based selling, understand prospect pain points, and provide solutions
- Describe the value of our solutions, be able to describe what we cannot do, and overcome objections
- Prepare contract proposals/sales packets for prospects
- Manage the sales database, including online research and data collection for prospects and competitors
- Prepare and brief weekly sales reports and sales pipeline reviews with Sales and operations leadership teams
- Plus other work related tasks as needed
Specific Traits and Experience:
- Quota-carrying sales experience within a service industry (B2B or B2C)
- Proactive, self-starter, driven, and goal oriented
- Demonstrated ability to hit sales targets and overcome setbacks
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Empathy and relationship building skills
- Experience within a modern sales organization – data driven, using CRM and other sales tools, following structured sales playbooks, collaborating w. Marketing, accountability culture
- Client service mentality
- Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills
- A collaborative team player
- Detail oriented and organized, with proven ability to establish priorities and achieve results

Pay and Benefits:
$70,000 to $85,000 + highly competitive incentive compensation based on results , depending on education and experience.
