About the Job
The Director of Business Development is responsible for the overall administrative functions of the Marketing and Business Development Team. The Director will supervise the administrative staff and offer guidance and training. Their job is to ensure that the day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently and taking corrective actions when necessary to guarantee timeliness and quality of work performed. Taking the time to work ‘on’ the department, and not just ‘in’ the department should be a conscious endeavor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Indoor, office or cubicle, business clothes, mostly sitting and standing, critical adherence to deadlines, no environmental or job hazards. Some outdoor client involvement with moderate driving.
Physical Demands and Mental Competencies:
This position requires the ability to read handwritten and rendered alphanumeric text, distinguish by sight numerical and mechanical differences, manual dexterity of both hands, occasional sitting for long periods of time, occasional standing, twisting, and bending from a standing position and some light lifting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participates in the hiring to select the best possible candidate for team and participates in the termination process for the Marketing and Business Development team members.
- Provides the necessary training and guidance required for the Marketing and Business team and will develop any training programs, if necessary, to implement the policies and procedures for the Marketing and Business team to operate in an effective and efficient capacity and assess any equipment needs
- Operates as the direct supervisor and is responsible for assigning job duties to each individual staff member of the Marketing and Business Development team.
- Evaluate their team members and provide feedback for improvement and identifying areas of weakness or inefficiencies while offering the appropriate recommendations for resolving those areas of needed improvement.
- Assist with any administrative tasks such as managing calendars, responding to emails, phone messages, etc. and assisting with customer requests, questions, and/or complaints, coordinating meetings, compiling the meeting materials and documents, creating presentations, booking any travel if needed, and coordinating with other Directors and Executives on any of these areas as needed.
- Ensuring clarity around priorities and goals for the entire department
- Managing and maintaining a budget for the Marketing and Business Development Department
- Providing guidance to direct reports; routine feedback on day-to-day tasks performed
- Working with senior management and other peers for strategy development and execution planning
- Communicating financial and goal results and key performance indicators to direct reports
- Be actively engaged in Management Team responsibilities and working across departments with peers to ensure collaboration for shared goals.
- Proactively seek opportunities to create or improve on the efficiency of processes and standard operating procedures.
- Guiding the talent identification and development processes for your department
- Facilitating goal-level creation for the broader function and working with directors to ensure the goals cascade to all workers.
- Assists Business Advisors on sales calls, meetings, or presentations when necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or other related field
- Advance knowledge of My HR Pros services and programs
- Management or Assistant Management equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Demonstrating an ability to create and present spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations with some training experience.
- Attention to detail is critical and ability to operate in a deadline driven environment.
- Customer service and organizational skills for efficient time and stress management are mandatory.
- Critical and analytical skills are necessary.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Exemplary Customer Facing and Customer Service Skills
- Ability to prioritize effectively and handle multiple tasks.
