Location: Based out of our Brookfield office, this role requires occasional travel to our Madison and Appleton territories.
OVERVIEW:
Business Development Officer (Treasury Management/Deposit Sales) plays a pivotal role by driving new deposit and treasury service relationships to the Bank. Through self-sourcing, prospecting, and strategic business development efforts, they promote First Business Bank, enhance brand awareness, and actively engage with the community through service, networking, and professional associations. This collaborative role (working in strong partnership with Treasury Management and Commercial Banking teams) extends across all our Wisconsin bank markets, with a primary focus on generating new business rather than managing a portfolio of client relationships.
Essential responsibilities for this role include:
- Using bank generated targeted lists of prospects, focus on self-sourcing new deposit relationships for the Bank.
- Develop specific calling and outreach sales strategies in alignment with targeted lists.
- Execute calling and outreach sales strategies, connecting with prospects through a variety of channels (calling, email campaigns, in-person meetings, etc.) to meet/exceed monthly client, prospect, and COI call goals.
- Effectively utilize Salesforce to track and log calls, manage pipelines, and build prospect and COI lists.
- Actively nurture referral networks to generate prospect and new business opportunities.
- Review and analyze prospective client information (financial statements, financial projections, business plans, etc.) and make informed decisions on which prospects to recommend the Treasury Management team pursue further.
- Serve as a trusted partner, add value, and participate in joint-calling with other members of the Treasury Management and Commercial Banking teams as needed.
- Develop a strong knowledge of treasury management and deposit products and services to ensure the ability to confidently meet sales objectives.
- Gain understanding of all products and services offered by First Business Bank, to include private wealth management and specialty finance, building relationships with key individuals within each area to help in future internal referral opportunities.
- Participate in community and business events to build brand and market awareness demonstrating a positive image for the Bank within the WI regions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of demonstrated success in a sales and new business generation role; selling relationship based products and services, preferred
- Demonstrated success in self-sourcing clients through individual calling and networking
- Prior experience in banking or financial services, preferred, but not required
- Results oriented with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Ability to analyze and understand personal and business financial statements
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in communicating the Bank’s story and value proposition
