Role: Business Development Representative Team Lead
We are seeking a Business Development Representative Team Lead to provide support to our Business Development Team. In this role, you will kick start the sales process by generating and qualifying sales leads and setting up appointments with potential customers on behalf of our sales representatives as well as acting as the department lead for training.
Territory Responsibilities – 40% of your time
- Strategically contact prospects to uncover new sales opportunities using BANT qualification criteria and sales process.
- Contact existing customers to ensure continued satisfaction with their current solution(s), share our entire product line, and uncover additional needs and opportunities.
- Initiates lead/demand generation strategies that include inbound/outbound sales and marketing calls, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Responsible for meeting individual quotas established for the assigned market.
- Actively maintain and update contact management database with customer and sales data information after every prospect/customer interaction.
- Working collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships.
- Other responsibilities and tasks assigned by Management as needed.
Leadership responsibilities – 60% of your time
- Review leads for new BDRs to ensure accuracy
- Continuously improve the team’s selling capabilities
- Conduct regular roleplay and feedback sessions with each BDR
- Personally trial any and all new initiatives with customers prior to launching scripts and systems within the department
- Assist in developing new scripting for campaigns and new products
- Identify areas of improvement, create new processes and implement with departmental feedback
- Foster a collaborative environment with all other functional areas within RFT
Basic Requirements and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree, or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calling and solution selling).
- Track record of achieving sales quotas.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Skilled in “Selling via Phone” successfully.
- Experience with customer database (i.e., CRM solution).
- Ability to deliver engaging presentations and/or willingness to be mentored on presentation delivery.
