Overview
Come work with a great team! Signet Health manages the Behavioral Health Services for Medstar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC) and has a full-time opening for a Business Development Specialist.
The Business Development Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with referral sources, while promoting MWHC Behavioral Health Services, by implementing and developing referral strategies, which result in a positive community image and assists the facility in meeting its goals. This is an office based position, with outreach and travel in the community up to 30%.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops strategies that strengthen the position of Medstar Washington Hospital Center’s Behavioral Health Services within the community as a premier provider.
- Identifies and develops strategic partnerships with key referral sources and providers.
- Provides facility sponsored trainings and education seminars for providers as ongoing community support.
- Attends and schedules appropriate conferences, workshops and other community and networking events to enhance census development.
- Creates and implements effective business plans for the Outpatient Behavioral Health Services and Inpatient Psychiatry departments focused on census targets, payor mix diversity, and effective program development to meet the market needs.
- Works as an established team member alongside Administrative, Medical, Clinical, and MWHC Staff and Leadership.
- Works to develop and implement strategies aimed at increasing patient referrals and interest into our behavioral health programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in a health or business related field.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare business development/marketing position, or related field.
- Knowledge of behavioral health and substance use programs and hospital provider systems.
- Experience in a similar role in the greater DC, Maryland, and Virginia area preferred.
- General knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Must have a successful track record and ability to grow program census.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills are required.
- Must have access to personal transportation and a safe driving record.
- Must have knowledge related to reporting and tracking data that includes Microsoft Excel, Microsoft word, and electronic databases.
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as required.
- Ability to manage time and work productively without daily supervision.
Salary Range: $86,177 to $106,392 annually
