Job description
Strong leader, Insurance SME with excellent communication skills and designer of insurance business domain solutions. In addition to solution design, responsibilities will include providing guidance and support to the project team and ensuring the final solution enables the business domain functionality.
This role will be part of the Advanced Engineering Shared Service organization and will work with IT and business partners across the company. They will be responsible for working with Enterprise and Application Architects, understanding the business requirements, and determining where Advanced Engineering can provide strategic solutions within the overall project business solution.
The role will report to the business integration solution lead and will work closely with platform technical architects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Architect and document enterprise integration business solutions.
- Provide guidance to technical business analysts and oversee their deliverables including detailed integration requirements, user stories, and detailed data mapping.
- Review test scenarios and test results to ensure the solution delivers intended business functionality.
- Support onboarding new adoptions onto existing business solutions.
- Closely work with project management and assist with the application of Agile techniques within designs
- Align with and adhere to Client global governance processes and tools.
- Act as a liaison between divergent business and IT teams to bring them together, mentor, share knowledge, solve problems, design common reusable assets and maximize the use of existing capabilities and frameworks.
- Work closely with project managers and delivery leads to identify key design activities and owners while ensuring alignment and feasibility
- Maintain accurate inventory of existing business process & services for advanced engineering team.
Qualifications
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Property & Casualty insurance industry and business domain data (Policy, Customer, Producer, Claims) knowledge required .
- Experience in Solution Architecture and Integration Design. Ability to translate business requirements into complete business solutions that leverage existing business domain services.
- Monitors traceability and linkage between business needs, solution design and execution planning.
- Develops conceptual artifacts to illustrate proposed solution.
- Supports ongoing improvement of the solution design over time
- Partners with business stakeholders to inform scope of technical needs, ensure adequate understanding and inform technical estimation process.
- Proven leader who can facilitate cross-organizational discussions and drive towards a common solution.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex business concepts both to business partners and team members.
- Knowledge of existing, new, and emerging technologies and ability to practically apply them to design solutions to achieve targeted business outcomes
- Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations.
- Ability to communicate with development staff and assist with troubleshooting issues in complex business process.
- Knowledge of common industry data formats, such as JSON and XML.
- Knowledge of Web Service Testing tool, such as SOAP UI or Postman.
- Knowledge of the system development life cycle and the Agile methodology.
- General knowledge of integration technologies from Service Bus to API mediation and event bus models.
- Demonstrated experience in one or several of the following: Personal Lines, Small Commercial Lines, Large Specialty, Domestic Companies and/or Multi-national companies
- Bachelor's or above degree in Computer Science, or related technology discipline
- 10-12+ years of IT experience
- 5-7+ years Insurance Domain experience
- 3+ years of Solution Architecture and Integration Design experience
