The Fox Chase Cancer Center is an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center recognized for contributions to the knowledge about the causes, treatment, and prevention of cancer. The Population Studies and Research Informatics Facility is a part of the cancer center responsible for solving information management challenges presented by basic, clinical, and population-based research. The Population Studies and Research Informatics Facility is involved in all aspects of designing, developing, and supporting information systems and web applications for research studies and scientific facilities. The group is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the team to strengthen research IT support provided to the cancer center investigators. The BI Analyst II, under minimal direction, utilizes data and information to answer questions, address organizational issues, or identify solutions to opportunities in a quantifiable manner. This entails working with customers to identify their needs, identifying and assessing data sources that can be used to satisfy those needs, and manipulating that data using a variety of reporting and analytical tools to present information in a meaningful and actionable way. The analyst will integrate data from disparate sources to provide new insights, and will design and develop visualizations, interactive dashboards, and other displays to communicate results effectively. The BI Analyst II will demonstrate mastery of at least one tool and competency in a number of other data management and analysis techniques to accomplish their tasks. The BI Analyst II will engage independently or with minimal direction on small to medium work assignments, or, under direction on larger assignments or as a contributor on larger projects.
Education
Bachelors Degree: in Technical or related field (e.g. Math, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics) (Required)
Masters Degree: in Technical or related field (e.g. Math, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics) (Preferred)
Experience
3 Years experience and knowledge using SQL in Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2 or other relational database (Required)
3 Years experience in data analysis and tools (Required)
3 Years experience in database and information systems technology (Required)
3 Years experience in developing with Tableau, Qlik, Crystal Reports, WebIntelligence, Cognos, MicroStrategy or other major end-user data access toolset (Required)
3 Years experience with full development life-cycle projects (Required)
3 Years experience in data warehousing, data marts, data management or related field (Preferred)
3 Years experience working in healthcare (Preferred)
