BCI is in the process of building a robust data lake in partnership with White Tree and is seeking a talented BI Data Analyst to manage data integration, analytics, and reporting, translating data into actionable insights.
Job Overview
As the BI Data Analyst at BCI, you will be responsible for data analysis, integration, and reporting across various business functions. Working closely with the IT, accounting, and business teams, you will leverage BI tools to create insightful reports and dashboards that drive decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on ensuring data accuracy, building ETL processes, and implementing self-service BI solutions that empower departments to make data-driven decisions.

As the BI Data Analyst at BCI, you will be responsible for data analysis, integration, and reporting across various business functions. Working closely with the IT, accounting, and business teams, you will leverage BI tools to create insightful reports and dashboards that drive decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on ensuring data accuracy, building ETL processes, and implementing self-service BI solutions that empower departments to make data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Insight Generation: Analyze data from multiple sources to generate insights that inform strategic and operational decisions.
- BI Reporting and Visualization: Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and potentially Tableau or Looker to support business objectives.
- Data Integration and ETL Processes: Build and manage ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various internal systems (e.g., ERP, e-commerce) and ensure seamless data flow into the data lake.
- Self-Service BI Enablement: Develop self-service reporting capabilities for business users, enabling them to generate and customize their own reports.
- Data Governance and Security: Support data governance policies to ensure data quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance, including role-based access and familiarity with GDPR and CCPA where applicable.
- Collaboration and Support: Work with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, translating business requirements into technical specifications for reporting and data solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience of five or more years.
- 3-5 years of experience in BI reporting, data analysis, or a similar role with a strong focus on data integration and visualization.
- Proficiency in BI tools, including Power BI, SSRS, with familiarity in Tableau or Looker as a plus.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with technologies for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience in data integration and ETL tools, such as Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite to support efficient data processing.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and experience with compliance standards (PCI) is highly beneficial.
- Cloud platform familiarity, in Azure, is preferred for managing scalable data storage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in home improvement, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Familiarity with data visualization best practices and experience delivering data-driven insights to support business growth.
