Position Summary:
Working from our offices in Columbia, MD the Business Intelligence Developer is part of a team responsible for supporting external reporting, ad-hoc reporting, and on-demand analytics for the organization. Under the direction of the Manager of Business Intelligence Systems, this individual will participate in the planning, design, development and implementation of solutions to address ongoing business reporting opportunities and needs.

Responsibilities
- Develop impactful and accurate reports, dashboards and other data visualizations.
- Communicate effectively across multiple departments and with stakeholders to review business requirements and propose solutions.
- Maintain data integrity and ongoing quality of delivered solutions.
- Support ad hoc reporting as necessary for outside departments.
- Identify data quality issues and work with appropriate teams to resolve them.
- Create relational and dimensional models for BI related projects.
- Develop ETL routines using SSIS to populate a data warehouse.
- Design and implement OLAP solutions with SSAS (multi-dimensional and/or tabular mode).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Due to the nature of this position, the applicant will need the ability to work from home or during off-hours as necessary. Candidates must have:
- 3+ years using the MS BI stack, including SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ETL techniques and best practices.
- Good understanding of database structures and query optimization.
- Strong knowledge of SQL with experience querying large complex data models.
- Experience writing MDX and/or DAX queries.
- Solid understanding of data warehouse methodologies.
- Good communication skills with the ability to understand and translate user requests into technical requirements.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- High-speed Internet access at home and a personal computer.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field of study.
