Job Summary and Qualifications
The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible to design, document, build, deploy, and support customized Business Intelligence solutions that provide end-user access to dashboards, analytics, and reports built on a data warehouse, data mart or operational system. Participate as a member of a project development team to specify functional and technical requirements, create a comprehensive design and technical specification, build and test developed solutions, and support ongoing system operations. Is both technical and business-minded, works on both business-driven and technology-driven assignments, and approaches business solutions from data, process, and analytics-centric perspectives.
In this role you will:
- Design, build, test and maintain BI Reporting Architecture, reports, dashboards, guided analytics and other BI solutions utilizing various reporting products for various service lines and will be a SME over 1-2 service lines
- Analyzing, re-writing, organizing, and/or migrating legacy reports to new BI reporting environment for various service lines.
- Collaborates with business representatives, client relationship managers and technical leads to analyze, define, and document functional and non-functional business requirements utilizing standard business analyst tool sets including use cases, prototypes, data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams, and business cases.
- Leverage existing and evolving standards to achieve consistency in the products that BI provides and to speed development by adhering to a relatively narrow technology footprint.
- Provides support to resolve incidents or fulfill requests received from the users; works with enterprise subject matter experts and technical resources to research and resolve issues; provides status on user issues.
- Analyze all levels of data on a report and root cause issues or answer questions on the data and the data lineage. Assist in administration and maintenance of security provisioning for the supported BI tools.
- Utilize standard development methodology throughout project life cycle
- Build solutions focused on long-term supportability and scalability
- Prepare system documentation and test procedures
- Performs intermediate-high level programming tasks such as setting up jobs or developing scripts to automate system functions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or related degree) required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement.
- Minimum 3 – 6 years Information Technology and /or Business Intelligence experience including database, reporting, analytical experience and web application design.
- Has worked in Cloud environments and understands basic Cloud infrastructure components in relation to large-scale reporting solutions
- Experience with HCA systems preferred.
- Experience leading projects and working with multiple departments/service lines is required
- Experience with Database platforms and BI Reporting Solutions such as, Business Objects, Power BI, Microstrategy, SSRS is required. Proficient in SQL Server and Teradata databases
- Expert level in at least one Reporting tool – Looker, PowerBI, MicroStrategy or Business Objects
- Proficient in SQL/NoSQL for Enterprise Data architectures with very large data stores.
