Business Office Manager (BOM)
The Business Office Manager is responsible for all Accounts Receivable functions in the facility.
Business Office Manager (BOM) Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enters and balances daily census in PointClickCare
- Completes Payer setup and changes for all residents
- Ensures that Medicaid applications are completed by coordinating with the Admissions Department and resident’s family
- Maintains financial files on all residents
- Completes RFMS authorizations for new Medicaid/Medicaid Pending residents
- Applies representative payees for social security and/or change of address
- Verifies that the responsible party in PointClickCare has a complete address and phone number for statements and collection calls upon admission
- Prepares and scan deposits
- Updates the corporate personnel of all Medicaid changes including admissions, discharges, payer changes, and income changes
- Completes Medicare and Medicaid eligibility each month for all residents
- Renders weekly collection calls to families for private pay, resident liabilities and any other outstanding accounts
- Completes notes in the resident file under Collections Tab to track progress
- Completes Medicaid Redeterminations
- Completes Managed Medicaid Re-Authorizations
- Completes Medicaid Pending Report
- Other duties as assigned
Business Office Manager (BOM) Education and Experience Requirements:
- Previous experience in long-term care is preferred
- Compassionate and empathetic personality
Business Office Manager (BOM) Physical Demands:
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
