Business Office Manager - Vista del Mar Hospital

Job Summary

The Business Office Manager oversees the administrative functions of the hospital’s business office, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with healthcare regulations and policies. This role involves managing staff, supervising billing and collections, and coordinating with other departments to support financial viability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily operations of the business office, including billing, collections, and patient & provider accounts.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding patient documentation and billing practices.
• Manage department staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and discipline.
• Establishes clear goals and objectives for the Business office staff, seeking direction & support from CFO
• Responds to direct requests or questions from patients or other customers in a timely manner.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, outlining key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure accurate and timely billing processes.
• Address patient inquiries and resolve issues related to billing and insurance.
• Participate in budgeting and financial forecasting activities.

Other Duties:

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or designated authority.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare or business office management with a focus on financial operations.

Skills:

• Proficient in billing and coding practices and healthcare regulations.
• Strong leadership and management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze data and generate financial reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hospital management software.
