We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Business Sanctions Coordinator, VP Compliance and Control II to join our BNY Pershing team. This role is located in Lake Mary, FL, Pittsburgh, PA or Jersey City, NJ – Hybrid.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Manage sanctions issues identification, escalation and resolution, collaborating with stakeholders, conducting root cause analysis, developing action plans, monitoring controls, ensuring timely closure and evidence preparation per internal procedures.
- Proactively track sanctions regulatory changes, update desktop procedures as needed, mitigate legal and reputational risks associated with sanctioned entities and/or countries, and provide qualitative analysis for metric development.
- Be the first point of escalation for the line of business for sanctions related matters.
- Responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, analyzing sanctions related risks for new products and services, and presenting results to relevant governance forum.
- Draft and distribute client-focused external sanctions-related communications.
- Assess ad-hoc or targeted sanctions training needs.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Business or Finance degree preferred.
- Prior work experience at a financial institution, law firm, regulatory agency, professional services firm, or other similar work environment.
- 7-10 years to total experience preferred. 3—5+ years sanctions experience preferred, including Risk, Sanctions Compliance, Sanctions Operations and Financial Crime areas.
- Comprehension of Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) regulations, and local sanctions regulatory framework, when applicable.
- Ability to independently identify sanctions risks as well as promote a strategy to enhance and/or remediate any gaps that exist and motivate change to transform and lead remediation on behalf of the firm.
- Demonstrates exceptional self-motivation, integrity, and teamwork, while maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive data.
- Exhibits outstanding organizational skills, analytical skills, rational, and cross-cultural communication abilities, consistently meeting deadlines and proactively addressing risk factors in a dynamic work environment.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $81,000 and $160,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
