- It might differ from project to project, but below might be the crux of what we are looking for apart from Analytical skills.

- I am on a daily basis querying the Google Cloud data warehouse to search for data elements requested by external vendor for file requests.
- This includes performing joins to multiple tables, filter conditions in the where or having clause, and writing moderate/advanced case when statements to mock up the data for a file layout request.
- To get further descriptions on the meaning of the data elements within our data warehouse that are unfamiliar, an internal database dictionary is used to get the meaning behind data elements.
- Lastly, in terms of data, tech, and SQL portion of the job of a BSA is to perform UAT testing for file feed requests or enhancements to already existing file feeds.
- SQL scripts are generated to try and find flaws within development of file feed process. (ex. If medicare PPO members are to solely be included in the file, writing a SQL script on the test file for the feed to see if any medicare HMO members accidentally made it into the file).
- In terms of technical ability, a candidate should be very well versed in SQL writing and reading queries while also being able to spot issues within development queries but not write code themselves.
