General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. We are seeking a talented Power BI Designer to join our Reporting and Analytics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing interactive data visualizations, reports, and dashboards using Power BI. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business areas to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
With limited direction, this position acts as a liaison between one or more business system users such as finance, payroll, purchasing, marketing, manufacturing, and human resources and the information systems technical staff to ensure that information technology design, data, reports, systems and processes meets the needs of the end users. As the business activity advocate, facilitates and provides leadership for all information technology developments including but not limited to: developing product/service/report specifications to ensure end user requirements are fulfilled; and evaluating new and/or modifying/upgrading existing business processing hardware and software systems. Participates in strategic planning for overall business system(s) development.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations that meet business requirements
+ Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements
+ Translate business requirements into technical specifications
+ Optimize data models for performance and usability
+ Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all visualizations and reports
+ Collaborate with the data engineering team to design and implement data pipelines
+ Provide training and support to end users on Power BI usage
+ Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and best practices
+ May provide training, guidance, and direction to less experienced staff.
+ Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
+ Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
+ Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a bachelor's degree and ten or more years of technical experience working with computerized financial, accounting, purchasing, payroll, human resources, manufacturing, or other business related systems. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
+ Ability to analyze data using statistical and other qualitative and quantitative techniques.
+ Must be experienced in leading and coordinating interactions between business system end-users and technical staff and have a complete operational and system understanding of administrative functions such as: general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, inventory control, fixed assets, payroll, human resources, etc.
+ Must have experience in developing and coordinating the development of reports from business systems and evaluating new or upgraded relevant software and hardware.
+ Must be customer focused, able to look at long-term trends and emerging requirements, and understand government cost accounting.
+ Able to work extended hours as required.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
