About the Job
As a Supply Chain Buyer, your mission is to optimize procurement processes, foster supplier relationships, and ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality products at competitive prices. You’ll also provide exceptional customer service to hospital departments.
Responsibilities
- Review Purchase Requisitions:
- Evaluate requisitions for item quantities and specifications.
- Prioritize urgent medical and patient care-related orders.
- Conduct research on product availability, alternative suppliers, and value analysis.
- Supplier Interaction:
- Meet with vendor sales representatives to discuss new products and negotiate pricing.
- Obtain competitive bids when necessary.
- Negotiate price, purchase terms, and equipment life cycle costs.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare cost analysis reports using Excel, detailing cost of goods, potential rebates, and discounting levels.
- Collaborate with department heads to recommend alternatives for requested products.
- Expedite orders affected by vendor backorders, credit holds, or emergencies.
- Process Compliance:
- Ensure purchase requisitions comply with financial protocols before committing to vendors.
- Support supply chain initiatives and understand inventory management and accounts payable operations.
- Work Experience:
- Relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in using hospital ERP systems.
- Data analysis skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Negotiation Skills:
- Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Communication:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects (up to 10 pounds occasionally).
- Sedentary work (remaining stationary most of the time).
Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000
