Description
Plans, directs, and implements requirements for the purchase of all materials and hardware and outplant services supporting customer orders. Individual must purchase materials and services, at a competitive price, in a timely manner, to support production requirements. Interacts with suppliers to ensure on time deliveries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Negotiate and work with suppliers for contracts, both short and long term. Develop LTA's to level load, price, and availability.
+ Reviews requirements for materials based on work order schedule, specifications, and current inventory.
+ Issue purchase orders that support production and customer requirements.
+ Provides visibility and status of purchase orders.
+ Determines potential suppliers and negotiates for price and delivery.
+ Respond to material shortages for work order release.
+ Manages supply chain for optimal performance and results.
+ Maintains files on global suppliers with parts and pricing.
+ Track all material and PO's received to have a periodic independent analysis performed.
+ Participate in 5s and lean manufacturing.
+ Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
+ Other duties as assigned.

+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; especially with contracts and purchase orders
+ Able to take instruction from multiple sources and prioritize appropriately.
+ Strong negotiation and relationship management skills in order to deal effectively with suppliers.
+ In depth understanding and knowledge of business operations and industry.
Education/Experience:
+ High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination. Five to ten years related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience (APICS or P.M.A. experience).
+ Bachelor's Degree preferred
Computer Skills:
+ Proficient level knowledge of and ability to operate Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
+ Expert level knowledge of and ability to operate Microsoft D365, Dynamics AX
Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability:
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings, procedure manuals, and professional journals. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before top management, supervisors, or employees of the organization.
+ Ability to accomplish common mathematical calculations, in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions/percentages, area circumference and volume. Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with senior management and suppliers and have better than average interpersonal skills.

This job operates in a clerical, office setting, as well as a standard manufacturing environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The noise level in the office setting is usually (approximately 75%-100%) quiet to moderate and is where the incumbent will spend 80% or more of their time. The noise level is (approximately 75%-100%) moderate to loud in the shop/manufacturing environment where the incumbent will spend approximately 5%-20% of their time. Safety glasses and safety shoes are required throughout the shop floor and hearing protection is recommended, except for certain manufacturing areas, which always require hearing protection.
While performing the duties of this position the employee is frequently (approximately 50% or more)required to sit, reach with hands and arms (to type, fill out POs, etc.), regularly (approximately 26%-50%)required talk and hear vendors, co-workers and customers, and occasionally (approximately 5%-25%)stand, walk, work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles when in shop/manufacturing floor. To perform the job, the employee is frequently (approximately 50% or more) required to talk and hear on the telephone, in person with individuals and groups, see and read documents in hard copy and electronic form. The employee must regularly (approximately 26%-50%) be able to lift and/or move up to10 pounds (mouse, reports, parts, etc.) and occasionally (approximately 5%-20%) lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (parts or materials)
