About the Job
- Procures supplies, materials, and equipment necessary for the operation of the organization.
- Reviews and converts purchase requisitions, contacts vendors, and examines bids and contracts.
- Manages supplier performance within MRO category.
- Assists internal customers with requests for materials/specifications for MRO requirements.
- Responsible to monitor and assure that delivery and inventory performance objectives per the operating plan are met/exceeded.
- Expedites items/supplies as necessary to meet company demands.
- Collaborates with cross functions include Customer Service, Production, Engineering, Planning, Shipping, Accounting
- Work closely with suppliers for solving issues associated with over shipments, shortages, discrepancies, obsolete materials, coordinating RMA.
- Work closely with planning team for expedites, pushout and cancellations.
- Reconciles invoices discrepancies with AP
- Reviews Open Purchase Orders and follows up with suppliers as necessary.
- Negotiates pricing, prepares RFQ and obtains competitive bids to assure best price.

Education and Experience:
- BA /BS in Supply Chain Management/Business or related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years MRO/materials management purchasing experience.
- Experience with Kanban and VMI preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and database skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Passion for enabling best customer experiences.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
