We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Buyer to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods, materials, and services to ensure the company’s operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process efficiencies.
2. Research, evaluate, and buy products for the company, ensuring the best deals, quality, price, delivery, and service.
3. Create and manage the supplier base, maintaining relationships and negotiating contracts and prices.
4. Manage the bidding process, from developing Request for Proposals (RFPs) to vendor selection.
5. Utilize MRP systems to forecast needs and manage purchase orders.
6. Oversee the supply chain, ensuring timely delivery of products and compliance with the procurement policies of the company.
7. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast demand and establish inventory levels.
8. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for services and products.
9. Perform risk management regarding supply contracts and agreements.
10. Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience as a Buyer, with demonstrated skills in procurement, bidding, negotiation, supply chain management, estimating, supplier management, MRP, purchase orders, materials, vendors, and purchasing.
4. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing management software.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
6. Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to secure the best prices and service agreements.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.
8. Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and planning abilities.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as an aptitude in reading the market.
11. Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
12. Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) would be a plus.
