The Buyer utilizes information systems to process requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment from Orlando Health authorized vendors
Responsibilities:Essential Functions
• Reviews and sets optimal inventory levels using system generated demand plans and electronic order quantity (EOQ) tools.
• Reviews and approves system generated replenishment orders.
• Maintains relevant data for inventory management and procurement applications.
• Maintains assigned performance measurements, records, and reports for review on demand.
• Ensures the most cost effective procurement of these products and communicates appropriately with vendors and customers.
• Communicates back-ordered product information to customers and if necessary, under the direction of the Clinical Resource Team, provides customer with clinically acceptable substitute products.
• Reviews all EDI/Non EDI confirmation pricing and submits discrepancies to Contract Administrators.
• Works with Purchasing Agent to effectively resolve invoice discrepancies to avoid penalties and loss of discounts.
• Resolves open order report and expedites or cancels orders as appropriate.
• Requests addition of new or non-file items according to established guidelines.
• Assists with workload in the absence of fellow Buyers and Purchasing Agent (purchase orders).
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

• Organizes and maintains files relative to procurement activities.
• Maintains departmental equipment, supplies and work area.
• Maintains confidentiality in all matters related to the work environment.
• Presents a professional posture in dress and mannerisms.
• Guards against any unethical business practice.
• Maintains established corporate and departmental policies and procedures, goals and objectives. Adheres to Orlando Health policies, procedures, and value statements.
• Performs other duties as directed.
Education/Training
High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
Experience
Three (3) years of directly related purchasing or supply chain work experience. An associate degree in business, finance or related health care field may substitute for up to three (3) years of the required experience.
