SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
:
The Buyer Planner determines material and production requirements plus coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services for the organization.
REPORTING TO
: Supply Chain Director
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Timely review of MRP messages to identify production requirements and take appropriate action such as placing purchase orders and expediting when necessary. Track supplier delivery to ensure on time delivery of key raw materials and components. + Determines material availability for orders that are scheduled to be opened. + Orders raw materials/components from the MRP and expedites as necessary; reviews all pertinent information for accuracy. + Coordinates work orders and logistics for outside processing of raw material. + Track and report part shortages in daily shortage meeting. + Continually researches global purchasing opportunities and cost reduction. + Troubleshoots material problems and determines appropriate action. + Inputs purchase orders into computer; reviews all pertinent information for accuracy. + Interacts with Receiving Inspection regarding non-conforming parts. + Relays information on non-conforming parts to vendors and creates debit memos for any parts being returned. + Interacts with Receiving and vendors to resolve count discrepancies. + Receives design changes to production items from Engineering Department and sends updated prints to vendors. + Interacts with Accounts Payable to resolve pricing discrepancies. + Interacts with Design Engineers on prototypes to determine pricing and delivery. + Assist in tracking supply chain metrics including Supplier On Time to Delivery, Purchase Price Variance, inventory metrics. + Participates in the continuous improvement process by presenting problems and possible solutions to the appropriate personnel, may participate in Kaizen events + All other duties assigned by Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. + Minimum three years purchasing and/or planning experience + Intermediate Math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers and fractions. + Supplier management experience + Experience using MRP system + Computer/keyboard skills. + Strong interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree from an accredited 4-year university preferred, in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related field preferred.

Physical Demands:
+ Majority of time is spent sitting. + Requires use of hands and arms at least 60% of the time. + Lifting requirements are generally less than 10 lbs. Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
+ Climate-controlled office environment. + Minimal exposure to factory conditions + Noise exposure is light to moderate.
Mental/Visual Demands:
+ Close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus are necessary to perform the job functions.

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $72,100.00 - $108,100.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
