Job description:The Buyer represents the organization in the acquisition and uninterrupted supply of materials and services required to assure on-time deliveries and client satisfaction. The primary objective is to identify and obtain the material and services that must be obtained externally. In accomplishing this, the Buyer will evaluate, and determine the best supplier, value and delivery for those products and services. Collaborates closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Finance to support the organization’s overall plan. This position reports to the Purchasing Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Issues all organizational purchase orders
- Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
- Manages supplier relationships and maintains alternative sourcing available to provide optimal benefits to the organization
- Works with engineering on new product introductions, including early supplier involvement and to provide material pricing.
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Maintains accuracy of standard costing for new items and for items requiring annual cost update.
