Position Title: Buying Clerk
Department: Buying
Supervisor: Buyer
FLSA: Non-exempt
Position Summary:
Provides support to Corporate Buyers by assisting them with the process of merchandising, selection and development, sales, analysis and vendor management.
Essential Functions:
- Receives purchase orders from various buying departments.
- Confirms pricing with supplier
- Corrects pricing and/or weights on purchase orders
- Changes delivery date as instructed
- Releases purchase orders
- Faxes purchase orders to suppliers
- Assists with price out of different suppliers and delivery
- Will assist with food safety recalls by completing paperwork such as checklist for recalled items and spreadsheets with required information for supplier and/or regulatory agencies.
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree, OR
- High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years experience OR
- Any appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to company values and strong customer orientation.
- Computer Literacy
Work Environment:
- Average office environment, air-conditioned in the summer. Accessibility to computers, phone, fax, copiers etc. on premises.
