POSITION SUMMARY:

TheOccupational Therapist is responsible for providing evaluation and treatmentupon physician referral to a patient population consisting of varyingdiagnosis. The Occupational Therapistwill assess, identify and treat all areas of deficits impacting self care,functional mobility, upper extremity function, behavior, cognition andperception and the ability to function in their lifes role. The Occupational Therapist providesinstruction and education to the patient/caregiver to promote the safeexecution of the facilitatory techniques taught. The Occupational Therapist supports andcontributes to the service excellence mission of and the HomeCareand Hospice Services Department.

EDUCATION /TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Required:

One yearexperience in acute care, extended care, rehabilitation, mental health or outpatient setting

LICENSES /CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

CurrentOccupational Therapy certification or be eligible for certification by theNational Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy (Certification-eligiblecandidates must successfully complete the next available examination in orderto continue employment.)

Current CPR certification

Current California Drivers License

Eligible to be insured under the s Liability Policy with DMVReport (and minimum age 21)

Proof of current auto insurance coverage (no business exclusion)

SKILLS /KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must demonstrate technical competence, professionalclinical judgment, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient andfamily. Clinical skills and knowledge to successfully achieve desired outcomesin assigned patients. Ability to providetreatment to address the practical and realistic needs and goals of thepatient. Must be able to fulfill theessential functions of the position.

PATIENTSSERVED:

This position is responsible forage-related, physiological, emotional and cognitive needs of the following agegroups of patients: Pediatric,adolescent, adult and geriatric.
