Responsibilities
Patient Support:
Assist the Physical Therapist (PT) in conducting thorough evaluations to determine patients' functional levels, needs, and goals.
Help develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
Therapy Implementation:
Provide physical therapy interventions under the direction of the PT to help patients achieve their goals and improve their physical functioning.
Use therapeutic exercises, modalities, and techniques to enhance strength, mobility, balance, and coordination.
Progress Monitoring:
Regularly assess and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary under the PT s supervision.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Education and Support:
Educate patients and their families about therapeutic processes, goals, and home exercise programs as directed by the PT.
Provide guidance on adaptive equipment and strategies to facilitate independence and safety.
Collaboration:
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, doctors, and nurses, to provide holistic care.
Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
