We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cable Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and replacement of Point of Sale (POS) systems and other technological equipment on-site at our client’s locations. The successful candidate will be comfortable with extensive travel and overnight work as required.
Responsibilities
The base range for this contract position is $17 - $25/per hour, depending on experience.
Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cable Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and replacement of Point of Sale (POS) systems and other technological equipment on-site at our client’s locations. The successful candidate will be comfortable with extensive travel and overnight work as required.
Responsibilities
- Assets that will be used in the delivery of customer services (e.g. tools, software, documentation, and intellectual property)
- Maintaining parts inventory records and appropriate parts levels
- Accurate and prompt reporting of calls and activity is required, as well as other reporting as needed. This includes tracking and reporting all expenses incurred in the delivery of services, private automobile, and/or public transportation
- Testing, running, and terminating network keystone jacks, patch panels, and cables
- Installation of Complex Point of Sale Hardware and software solutions as a solo technician, lead technician or assist technician
- Travel and to work on rotating shifts, including overnight installations
- Safely use an OSHA-approved ladder up to 12 feet to install equipment
- Operate and work from a platform lift
- Sit in an automobile, train, or plane for extended periods
- Use electric, cordless, and hand tools frequently
- Carrying and lifting tools and parts of varying weights (1- 50 lbs.) frequently, including up or down multiple stairs and floors as needed
- Bending/squatting/crawling and walking/standing for prolonged periods (8-10 hours)
- Ability to work in crawl spaces/attics
- Ability to work with arms/hands extended overhead frequently
- Lifting of objects up to 100 lbs or more occasionally
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One to three years of proven related experience
- Work well with minimal supervision and have good problem-solving skills
- The ability to pick up new skills quickly, work under pressure, and meet deadlines and produce high-quality work
- Excellent interpersonal skills/customer relationship skills required
- High level of personal integrity; Support and promote teamwork and cooperative efforts
- Basic computer skills and common software knowledge, including basics of Windows OS
- Core competencies in the safe usage of power and hand tools, as well as drilling common surfaces to mount equipment on walls, countertops, and ceilings
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, overtime, flex shifts, on-call, and travel
- Valid Driver’s License
- Reliable Transportation
- Ability to pass Criminal Background Checks
- Ability to pass DMB Background Checks
- Ability to pass Credit Checks for a Company AMEX
- Previous experience with POS systems or in hospitality environments a plus
- Proven hardware installation, troubleshooting, and PC Maintenance Experience
- Low Voltage cabling skills and knowledge of industry best practices
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot basic network configuration
