About the Job
With limited supervision, develops models and drawings based on job specific information as provided by outside customers and design criteria as set by the chimney division.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create new models/drawings or revise existing models/drawings per new information using Autodesk Inventor.
- Check other drafters' work using guidelines set by the chimney division and information supplied by the customer.
- Create custom part detail drawings for manufacture.
- Communicate with customers when the customer has questions or additional information is required to produce a drawing.
- Provide product support as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Associate degree in CAD preferred
High School Diploma or GED with experience
Experience: 3-5 years of experience desired with associate degree in CAD, preferred
5 or more years of related design experience in an industrial setting in lieu of degree
Necessary Skills:
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software (Creo/ProE, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience working with part libraries
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience working with parts lists/BOM's
- Revit experience a plus
- Knowledge of MS Project
Other Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to a moderate noise level.
