Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time CAD Drafter opportunity available based in Charleston, SC. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance.
ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES
- Work in conjunction with Principal Designers and Engineers to help develop all aspects of a project
- Prepare complete sets of complex drawings which include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings using Revit and AutoCAD software
- Work from sketches, models, and verbal information supplied by an engineer, architect, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments
- Select required information from precedents, manufacturers' catalogs, specifications, and technical guides
- May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a technical assistant for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project
- Provide support in defining and developing detailed calculations, drawings, design and installation packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses
- Support the verification of the design specifications and assure accuracy of red-lined drawings upon project completion
- Assist in the preparation of drawings and technical specifications for final customer presentations
- Develop, review and update Installation Design Packages (IDPs) for 30%, 60%, 90% and final design reviews in accordance with the NIWC Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH)
- Assist in the development and maintenance of office drafting and engineering standards, including but not limited to office policies, guidelines, technical instructions, standards, etc.
- Support client reviews of drawings, design and installation packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses
- Provide support for other engineering activities as required
- Assist in the training and mentoring of team members in the use of AutoCAD and Revit per required standards and processes
Required QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.
- 1-3 years of experience in Revit
- 3-5 years of experience in Autodesk AutoCAD; 2018 or later
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
- Skilled in the use of Revit and AutoCAD, specifically NIWC SIPH drawing standards
- Proficient in the use of Adobe PRO for document preparation
- Experienced working with Engineers, Architects, and Technicians.
- Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Cambridge International Systems complies with Temporary Duty Station (TDY)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) vaccination requirements. If this position requires OCONUS travel (listed above), Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil lists out applicable current vaccination requirements by location.
- Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
- Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
- May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
