Job DescriptionThe CAD team plays a key role in developing new boat models and works within the product development engineering department. Works closely with designers and engineers to bring concepts and ideas to life in the 3D world. Works with other teams throughout PD&D and production to provide support during development stages and model releases. This position has a focus on detailed assembly models and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and engineer high quality models using 3D and 2D CAD tools.
- Aid and advise in the development of new products.
- Bring concept illustrations and ideas to real scale digital data.
- Analyze 3D models for functionality and compatibility of desired specifications.
- Send out digital models for rapid prototyping and production tooling.
- Create digital patterns, templates, and/or temporary tooling to aid new development.
- Create and manage technical drawings to be reviewed.
Qualifications
- Technical Degree/Certification - Design/Engineering
- 1-2 years’ experience with computer-aided design software
- 1-2 years’ experience in product development
- Technical drawings and documentation
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- High attention to detail/strong analytical skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Autonomous, self-starter, and comfortable working in fast-paced environment
Knowledge, Education/Experience Preferred:
• Solidworks part and assembly modeling
• Solidworks PDM
• Rhino 3D
• Autocad or similar for 2D CNC machining
• CAM software for CNC programming
• Marine manufacturing or boating industry experience
• Involvement of recreational skiing, slalom, and wakeboarding
