About the Family Behavioral Health Clinic
The Family Behavioral Health Clinic (FBHC) provides behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults in the Chicago area. Our goal is to provide excellent treatment and to help each client navigate the healing pathways toward recovery from substance use disorder, successfully complete DUI risk education classes and treatment, and fulfill requirements from our menu of Court-Ordered Anger Management Services.
About the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
The CADC provides clinical services in an outpatient setting to patients/clients seeking treatment for issues related to alcohol and controlled substance use. These patients/clients may be self-referred or referred for treatment from an external agency. The CADC also provides services to patients/clients receiving services in other Maryville residential programs.
Essential Functions
- Provides assessments and interventions to referred patients/clients;
- Provides individual and group counselling for referred patients/clients;
- Maintains appropriate and organized case files including all necessary paperwork and documentation;
- Provides support and clinical services to patients/clients affiliated with other Maryville programs;
- Provides in-service training to Maryville staff as indicated;
- Participates in continued performance quality improvement; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in human services related field preferred; and
- CADC Certification required.
Skills /Knowledge:
- Must successfully complete Maryville’s pre-service training;
- Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
- Must possess familiarity and working knowledge of Part 2060 Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Treatment and Intervention Licenses of Title 77 of the Illinois Administrative Code.
Physical Demands:
- Required to frequently sit, stand, bend, stoop and walk, sometimes for extended periods.
- Required to lift/ move objects weighing in excess of 20 pounds.
- Must have visual, hearing, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform the essential functions defined above.
Environment and Scheduling:
- Work is performed in designated administrative office settings.
- Must be flexible and available to work additional hours when necessary.
- May be scheduled to work on weekends and/or holidays
