CADD Intern - Colliers Engineering & Design

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a CADD Intern to join our Survey/Geospatial team in our Columbia, MD office!

Colliers Engineering & Design’s survey professionals have the expertise to achieve highly accurate results while maintaining quality control over data collected, from field to office, and precision of the final client deliverables. Whether the project calls for administering conventional surveying methods, cutting-edge geospatial scanning techniques or a combination of both, our professionally licensed land surveyors, highly-trained office technicians and field crews work seamlessly together to provide the most responsive and consistent professional survey services available. Implementing the right approach for each project is what makes the difference and ensures our clients they are receiving the most accurate surveying and measurement services.

• Assist technical staff on day-to-day projects in their respective discipline.
• Transform field collected electronic files into Autodesk Civil 3D (CAD) produced drawings.
• Work with more senior staff to produce ALTA, Boundary, Topographic Surveys, As-Built drawings, maps, Specific Purpose Surveys, Plot plans and Subdivision Record Plats by using Autodesk Civil 3D (CAD).
• Reduce field notes from field collected data into survey/civil grade base maps.
• Perform some office duties, including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks and staking computations using survey computer programs and AutoCAD.
• Reads and understands plans and specifications.
• Work alongside junior and senior level engineers to execute project deadlines.
• Network with current Colliers Engineering & Design professionals and gain real-life experience in consulting.

• Pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, CADD, Engineering Technologies, or Civil Engineering.
• Must have reliable transportation to the office.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD.
• Experience with Civil3D preferred. 
• Basic understanding or ArcGIS or QGIS preferred. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess solid problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.
• Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
