Summary
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Software Manager to provide management and oversight of all software configuration control items as related to the Combat Air Forces Distributed Mission Operations (CAF DMO) Performance Work Statement (PWS). The selected candidate will serve as the software Point of Contact (POC) to the customer and be responsible for managing and overseeing all software related activities associated with all contractor personnel, subcontractor and teaming partners. The selected candidate will assist the software lead with providing management, direction, administration, quality assurance, and leadership execution of technical matters.
The selected candidate will ensure delivery of all services as required by the task order. Provide management of a geographically separated team of employees and subcontractors to meet Combat Air Force Training requirements.
This role is NOT eligible for remote or hybrid work and is executed on-site.
What you will do
Designs, develops, documents, tests, maintains, and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. Duties include but are not limited to:

Development of internally created software supporting the CAF DMO as well as employing and extending externally created and managed software supporting CAF DMO

Coordinates with external agencies and development activities to understand requirements for development and enhancement of CAF DMO software.

Provides status and recommendations to CAF DMO leadership on CAF DMO software development and maintenance related topics and activities.
What you must have
- 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience with software development using JavaScript, Typescript, Java, C#, or C++
- 5+ years of experience with implementing and supporting APIs between internal and external system components.
- Experience with Agile software development, Software Development Lifecycle processes, and debugging and analysis tools.
- Ability to gather requirements and transform the information into solutions that exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to prepare and present findings and recommendations to organization leadership.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to other SW engineers with respect to approaches, techniques and logic that aid them in developing solutions.
- Must be a US citizen, currently hold and able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DMO related software applications, scheduling tools and environment generator applications.
- Experience developing software that produces and consumes distributed simulation protocols (e.g., DIS, HLA)
- Experience developing automated testing tools.
- Experience developing real-time simulation software.
- Information Assurance Training (IAT) Level 2 Certification (ex. CompTIA Security+)
- Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies via self-study and collaboration with team members.
