Position Summary: Organizes, leads, and participates in food preparation and service operations at a school site. Orders and maintains an inventory of food items as well as food service records in compliance with state and federal requirements. Ensures adequate inventory of food and related items that match established menus.

Salary: $23.39 - $30.94 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on experience (new hire maximum of step 5).
Location: Grant HS
Hours: 8 hours/day; 5 days/week

Education and Experience: The position requires a High School diploma plus formal training in meal planning, nutrition, sanitation, business administration, cafeteria management, or related field, and 4 years of experience in food service, 2 of which are as an institutional cook or food production team leader.

Licenses and Certifications: Requires valid California Driver’s License and a food safety manager certificate.
