Position Summary
The Cake Decorator is responsible to perform duties as directed by the Bakery Manager and/or Asst. Bakery Manager for the successful operation of the Bakery department. The Cake Decorator is responsible to see that all Kennie’s customers are provided with top quality products and the best customer service available.
Requirements
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or General Education Degree(GED)or one(1) to three(3) months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage; and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Wait on customers at the bakery case.
- Take cake orders from customers.
- Prioritize and fill special cake orders on time for customer pick-up.
- Keep cake case filled.
- Clean bakery prep area and all cake decorating tools.
- Cooperate with other departments when inter-departmental or store wide sales promotions warrant.
- Assist workers in other departments when the needs of business require.
- Responsible to obey all safety standards as outlined by the company.
- Work regularly with equipment with moving mechanical parts.
- Work in wet conditions and heat conditions from ovens.
- Work in an area with Low to Moderate noise levels.
- Perform other appropriate duties as directed by the Bakery Manager, Assistant Bakery Manager, Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.
Physical & Environmental Essential Functions

- Routine visual ability (reading with attention to detail, shapes, shadows, and contrasts)
