AZZ has an exciting opportunity for a Canadian Payroll Specialist at our Fort Worth Texas corporate office. Reporting to the Payroll Manager you are responsible for processing the organization's Canadian payroll accurately and on time. You'll tackle everything from taxes and payroll deductions to calculating overtime and bonuses. You’ll prepare reports for management and various agencies, while also being the go-to expert for any tricky payroll questions that come your way.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Processes employee paychecks by compiling and computing wages, deductions, and other payroll data.
- Enters and maintains payroll data in computerized payroll systems.
- Reviews timesheets and payroll reports to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
- Prepares and balances period-end reports and reconciles issued payrolls.
- Prepares statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay, and submits to appropriate departments.
- Assists with preparing quarterly tax payments and preparing year-end reporting.
- Distributes and collects timecards each pay period.
- Maintains garnishment rules in payroll system and assists with research and testing.
- Answers routine to complex questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters.
- Assists Accounting/Finance departments with payroll related tasks and projects.
- Must have experience processing Canadian payroll.
- Prior experience with ADP and/or Oracle payroll systems preferred.
- High attention to detail required.
- Excellent written and oral communication for both internal and external engagement.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications required
- Must be self-motivated and comfortable working independently
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree preferred
