Keystone Organizing is a minority-owned, Pennsylvania-based strategic organizing and grassroots mobilization firm that provides canvassing, community organizing, and voter registration services to campaigns, committees, and advocacy groups, both in Pennsylvania and throughout the country.
Role Description
Keystone Organizing is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Door to Door Canvassers to join our team in Philadelphia! As a Canvasser, you will play a crucial role in our efforts to increase voter participation and civic engagement in 2024. You will be responsible for going door to door and engaging with voters about what’s at stake in November. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the democratic process and gain valuable experience in grassroots organizing. There are no formal education requirements and no previous experience is required. If you’re ready to organize your community, we urge you to apply–we are hiring immediately!
Daily shifts are available between 1:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with the flexibility to pick which days you’d like to work. A minimum of 3 shifts per week is required.
Pay is $21/hour and you will be paid bi-weekly.
Responsibilities

Must have the physical stamina to stand/walk for long periods (up to 7 hours per day) while meeting and talking to people

Comfortable with, knowledgeable of, and enthusiastic about discussing topics related to progressive politics, advocacy, and public policy

Understand how to use a cell-phone to track and submit data

Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends

Ability to memorize and recite scripts and statements prepared and provided by Keystone Organizing

Consistently meet daily and weekly goals

Must be willing to work at least 3 7-hour shifts per week
Experience, Requirements and Skills

There is no formal education requirement for this position

Excellent communication skills including active listening and interpersonal skills

Previous experience in canvassing, door to door sales, fundraising, census outreach work, retail, marketing, or telemarketing are all encouraged to apply!
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate for this position is $21/hour
