Responsibilities & Qualifications:Position Overview:
The Novelis North America Procurement team is looking for a CapEx Procurement Lead. Reporting to the Sr Manager Sustaining Capex, this role will have responsibility for developing, executing, and implementing effective procurement strategies for capital equipment and services for three Novelis Plants comprising the Automotive cluster in North America.

Responsibilities:
- Work directly with plant collaborators and suppliers to ensure material specifications are clear and accurate and adhere to Novelis standards for quality, safety and cost.
- Work directly with plant collaborators or project managers to develop procurement specifications that result in seller pricing consistency.
- Prepare periodic reports and participate in meetings with Plant Managers to summarize project status and ongoing strategy.
- Develop and implement strategies that optimize procurement processes and align with Novelis results objectives.
- Establish effective communication network within and beyond the working team to ensure accurate timely flow of information.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organize periodic follow-up meetings with regions & global locations to supervise project progress status, resolve or advance issues.
- Obtain specifications, timing, recommended suppliers and other critical information from Project lead to prepare and issue RFQs.
- Receive bids and prepare bid comparisons for next step actions, as requested.
- Interface closely with Global Sourcing Managers, Procurement buyers, Treasury, Legal and Suppliers to prepare contract exhibits for execution
- Obtain Supplier Monthly Project Progress reports & monitor for any necessary action
- Collaborate with Treasury for supplier financial standing & credit risks evaluation
- Collect and maintain Supplier Background information, NDAs, Code of Conduct, MDM documentation, and negotiated T&Cs, etc.
- Supervise Supplier performance criteria, critical metrics and develop scorecards for annual reviews
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Capital procurement, sourcing, or contracting 2+ years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Contracting
- Effective organizational skills and ability to work with various levels of the organization
- Superior customer service skills and ability to deal with internal customers and suppliers in a very effective and professional manner.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
- Self-directed. Ability to complete a task with minimal direct supervision.
- Proven influence and negotiation skills with both internal organizations and suppliers.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Engineering, or related area of study, or equivalent experience
- Oracle, SAP, or other ERP experience strongly preferred
- Proficient in the MS-Office suite with a keen proficiency in Excel.
- Ability and willingness to work in a team environment with multi-functional specialists residing locally, remotely, and in the Plants.
- Be able to work remotely as optimally and seamlessly required.
- Commercial thinking and drive.
- Good communication across all levels of the Organization with critical thinking, Analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build proven relationships with outside Supplier as well as Internal Stakeholders.
- Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specific experience with, manufacturing machinery, infrastructure, contract & training programs. Worked in Metals or related field.
- Ability to travel 20% to 30%.
- A strong business acumen, proven experience in lean manufacturing concepts and techniques.
- Experience communicating in both a corporate office setting and a shop floor / manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate strong conflict management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with and respectfully challenge purchasing and/or multi-functional collaborators.
