About the Job
Responsibilities: Must maintain a minimum of OUPV USCG Endorsement. Monitor and enforce Old Harbor Settlement Trust Land Use Policy and ensure proper permits are being purchased, oversee crewman, ability to navigate the ocean in a safe manner, complete checks and inventory on OHNC cabins, ability to use an ATV, chainsaw, skid steer, and power tools in a safe manner, must have general knowledge of basic building upkeep. Provide transport for Alutiiq Tribe of Old Harbor and Old Harbor Alliance programs and projects. Provide freight transport.
Maintenance: Check inventory of the Sitkalidak Cabins, provide a list of maintenance needs to the OHNC Office Manager, check oil and battery levels of all equipment, vessel and power tools, ensure that all tools and equipment used for OHNC is put away and locked up, perform safety checks on the vessel, ensure the vessel has proper safety equipment, perform safety drills monthly with crewman.
Monitoring Log: Provide a log of days and areas monitored, people encountered and their permit used, maintenance to the equipment, maintenance to trial all turn in to office weekly.
Candidate required to check in on days patrolling with OHNC Office Manager both prior to departure and upon return.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse job sites as needed for inspections of projects and assessing areas, which includes but is not limited to, walking on uneven surfaces/multiple floors; climbing multiple flights of stairs; standing for extended periods of time; climbing ladders; and/or lifting up to 50 lbs.
- There may be additional project-specific physical requirements.
Schedule: Four days a week at random
Requirement: Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV) USCG Endorsement (6-pack license) & random drug test
Pay rate: DOE
